Alright, I guess it’s time for another recommendation of a Nepali band, and it’s Cruentus right here. If you want some fierceful thrashy black metal with a VICIOUS drumming, check out this LP called “Asantusta Aatma” by the band, which also offers a slight touch of death metal. I learned this album was never released physically but only through the internet. And let me tell you this – Cruentus were the mightiest band in Kathmandu at their time, too bad they’re now disbanded.

Full Circle is a (slow) rock/easy-listening group from Kathmandu, Nepal. I know they’re quite an old band, and it’s a shame for me that I’ve been living away from their light till now. Cannot say much, because I myself don’t know much about them, except that their music’s cool. Try yourself:

…and well, through a further bit of search, here is the myspace page of their singer/songwriter/founder Dimple Singh Nandra, and here is his official website.

Shraap is a death metal/grindcore (home/studio) project of Pramithus Khadka (ex-Bitter Euphemism) on guitar, bass, drum programming and recording, and Prabin Shrestha (ex-Arachnids, Binaash) on vocals/lyrics. Besides the MIDI drums, the two songs might be two of the best recorded death metal tracks from Nepal yet:

Maya is a melodic death/doom metal band from Kathmandu. Formed in 2002, their single “Itihaas”, with a blend of black, death as well as doom metal elements and with probably the strongest lyrics from a Nepali band, was vital in influenting a horde of soon-to-form extreme metal groups in the country as well.
